Moving Fast!

Wow. Time seems to be moving fast! We are getting rid of EVERYTHING but clothes and some outdoor gear. This is much easier for a man. I am so thankful for my wonderful wife. She is stepping so far out of her comfort zone, for her Lord first and then for me. Pray for our families here in NC. We will be having an open house next week, selling/giving away our worldly goods. A hitch is being put on the car to pull a small U-haul. Everything that is not taken by friends, family, and church family will be donated to local ministries. Blessings to all who are praying for us!

Casting Cargo from the Ship!

"On the third day we threw the ship’s tackle overboard with our own hands."

Acts 27:19

Thankfully, we are not in a storm like the Apostle Paul and his shipmates were. We are, however, like him, on a mission with the Lord. We need to 'lighten the ship' and get rid of stuff we have accumulated over the past few years. 

Our plan is to travel lightly to the Northwest, taking only the essentials. Therefore, we will be opening our home, after Christmas, to all who would like to come and 'shop'. We feel like God wants us to make our current possessions available to anyone who has a need. Folks can make a donation for items if they wish, but if they are in need and cannot, they can take what they need/want for free. What is left will be donated to charities. 

We are still looking for a suitable home to rent North of Seattle, in or near Mukilteo. Please pray for our Lord to provide.

Anticipation!

Advent means an 'eagerly anticipated arrival.' We celebrate the arrival of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. He is our Emmanuel...God with us! There is another Holy Advent we anticipate when He returns to 'make all things new.' He will bring such a magnificent restoration to this earth that the scars of sin and marks of mankind's fall will disappear in Edenic beauty...come Lord Jesus! Until that great restoration Advent, let the Spirit of God work through us to bring healing and restoration into hurting, broken, wounded people who thirst for living water.

We are so grateful for our first partner church, New Life of Asheville, NC. We were blessed as we ministered there last Sunday. About ten people indicated they gave there lives to Christ (thank you Spirit of God!) and several people made decisions to pray for us and provide for the ministry. We are humbled and grateful! May the Lord bless you abundantly for your prayers and generosity. 

Melissa and I will be moving to the Seattle area in mid-January. Until then, our focus will be on selling/giving away possessions, having quality time with family members, building our team of ministry partners, and finishing well in our ministry to the Mountain View Church family.

I will continue preaching and shepherding at  Mountain View Church through the end of December. Please remember them in prayer as they search for a new Lead Pastor. Pray that he will be a man who seeks and submits to the will of God in all things, breaks the Bread of Life faithfully to the MVC family and loves them well.

Pray for us as we make this transition. We need a house suitable to our family and ministry needs. Pray that we will stay close to our Lord and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Pray for our protection from spiritual attack and that God would raise up a full canopy of prayer and financial partners so we can move forward in His power and provision.
